On NFL Countdown, Scott Van Pelt, Ryan Clark, Jason Kelce and Marcus “Swagu” Spears react to L.A. Chargers QB Justin Herbert’s plantar fascia diagnosis and what missing time could mean for the Chargers in the regular season.

Here is the official statement from the Los Angeles Chargers that was posted to their official website earlier today.

Following yesterday’s practice, Justin Herbert was diagnosed with an injury to the plantar fascia in his right foot.

Doctors have recommended approximately two weeks in a boot — followed by a graduated return to play protocol — with the expectation that he will be ready for the start of the regular season.

With a brand-new head coach, a revamped roster, and new offense being implanted the timing of this injury couldn’t be worse. Hopefully, this injury is a minor setback and not a harbinger of worse things to come for the Bolts.
