When I read this last week, I almost leaped for joy. Literally. The California State Fair is moving from July to the much cooler mid-September starting in 2027! Fair officials have (correctly) stated that moving the event to avoid extreme summer will enhance the guest experience. Well, duh!
I can’t tell you many years have passed where the summer comes and I put this event on my mental list of places to visit. Then July comes around and I start to make plans, only to be reminded that I’d need to brave 100-degree weather to attend. It’s always a deal-breaker. Who in their right mind wants to try and enjoy an outdoor event in extreme heat?
I’m so glad for this change. Well done fair officials, you got this right. Albeit several years late.
