Back in 2020, California was under assault by multiple huge fires, of which the freak dry lightning storm did the most damage. Another caught the public’s eye, and that was a very devastating fire, El Dorado. It was sparked by none other than a firework (smoke bomb) at a gender reveal party.

How hot? Too hot.

California, at least in the Central Valley and So Cal, is experiencing a very intense heatwave combined with drought, wildfires, and rolling blackouts. As hot as it gets outside (up to 110 degrees), it’s helpful to remember that the temperature inside cars can reach nearly 200 degrees, enough to bake/cook food products. Pressurized containers (such as a can of air freshener, or propane containers) can also explode dangerously. Sensitive materials, such as those in some sunglasses can also melt or suffer damage. As seen in the featured image, a certain heat shield got melted, likely due to poor quality materials.

Oops: Gov. Gavin Newsom isn’t listed as a Democrat on recall ballot

Gov. Newsom’s legal team made a mistake 16 months ago in which Newsom’s party preference won’t show up next to his name in the upcoming recall ballot, which was only realized in June. Newsom’s handpicked Secretary of State, Shirley Weber, refuses to allow for Newsom’s legal team to fix this mistake, which prompted Newsom to sue his own Secretary of State.
