Normally, the wild animal that poses the largest threat to humans are mountain lions. Thankfully, mountain lion attacks are very rare. However, it seems that another “lion” poses a danger to humans: Sea lions. There have been several incidents of not so friendly interactions between sea lions and humans, but just very recently, there are a number of “demonic” sea lions on the California coast that have made headlines. In particular, there was an attack on a surfer. The aggressive and erratic behavior of the animals have been linked to a toxic algae bloom, which has left a dolphin and 8 sea lions dead at San Diego’s SeaWorld.
