It has been 2 and a half years since the COVID-19 pandemic has gripped the United States. During this time, Governor Gavin Newsom held state of emergency powers, which has been used for business closures, mask mandates, hospital capacity and vaccination sites.

Gov. Newsom has announced on October 17 that he will end the COVID-19 State of Emergency on February 28, 2023. This probably will mark the end of the pandemic, and perhaps by then, COVID-19 will truly be no more (or at least not as much as a threat). I think we are all eager (and anxious) to a return to our previous lives.
