California is under assault by fires once again. Some have been caused by humans or are related. A Fresno recycling facility has seen fires multiple times. A big blaze caused by a single car crash, a BMW’s flames burned 30 acres before being put out.
A much more serious wildfire, Lava Fire in Northern California, was caused by lightning, and has been burning since last Thursday. It is still being contained (and barely is); it’s already burned 17000 acres of land.
California already has many problems that exacerbate wildfires, but our even worse drought problem (evidenced by the recently declared drought emergency) makes even more of California prone to wildfires.
