Golden State Warriors went wild with dimes, dunks and more to come out on top over the Atlanta Hawks.
Andrew Wiggins scored a game-high 27 points on 12-for-17 shooting with three made 3-pointers in the Warriors’ 120-97 victory over the Atlanta Hawks at Chase Center on Wednesday. Wiggins’ 12 made field goals are a season-high and mark his second game shooting over 70 percent from the field this season. He also grabbed seven rebounds, dished out four assists and blocked two shots.
CURRY OUT-DUELS YOUNG
Stephen Curry won the point guard battle against Trae Young, nearly doubled Young’s points total (23-12) and making as many 3-pointers as Young had field goals (4). Curry was very efficient, shooting 7-for-10 from the field, 4-for-6 from three and a perfect 5-for-5 from the free throw line.
Curry’s playmaking was also on display as he dished out eight assists, which generated 16 points. Two of those were consecutive dimes to Gary Payton II in the third quarter, which led to dunks. Young led the game with 11 assists, but even accounting for their assist points created, Curry was still directly responsible for more total points (39-38).
