After 27 games the Warriors sit at one game under .500 at 13 wins and 14 losses. They sit as the very mediocre 8th seed in the West and sandwiched between the #7 Pheonix Suns and the #9 Minnesota Timberwolves. Here are a few game notes that caught my eye on NBA.com tonight and I wanted to pass them along.
12/16/2025, 12:45 PM, Doubtful for Thursday
Warriors coach Steve Kerr said Horford is back on the court and that he’s nearing a return, but it sounds like the team will be cautious Thursday. In the meantime, Quinten Post is likely to soak up extra minutes at center.
12/16/2025, 12:37 PM, Out for personal reasons
Spencer’s next chance to rejoin the team arrives during Saturday’s rematch with Phoenix. With the 29-year-old out of action, more playing time is available to Moses Moody and Buddy Hield in the backcourt.
12/15/2025, 11:49 AM, Solid stat line off bench
Head coach Steve Kerr has a propensity to tinker with his starting lineup, though Podziemski hasn’t been in the first unit since the Dec. 7 loss to the 76ers. The 2023 first rounder has still averaged a solid 13.0 points, 4.7 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.2 steals per game in his last 11 outings, and Podziemski’s role could fluctuate all year long based on matchups.
This is a big week coming up for the Dubs. They are coming off two disappointing losses to the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Portland Trailblazers with very lackluster defensive performances. After enjoying some extra days off the Warriors will face the Phoenix Suns in a baseball-type home and away series. Let’s hope they can put a couple of good games together and pivot to a string of wins.
